The Dudley Story

Dudley is a Scottish Highland Bull born on June 1st, 2015. Dudley was one of two born that day, the other was his brother who, sadly, was lost to production. Dudley’s pasture was on a beautiful farm in Milford, NH. His inviting, gentle and fun personality became well known to passers-by. He quickly became a neighborhood favorite, gaining nicknames such as ‘Pumpkin’ and ‘Shaggy’. I met Dudley in the Spring of 2017 as I passed to and from work. Like others, I became fond of his regal presence. One evening, ironically Christmas eve, I drove by his stall to visit. His farmer (Jon) was attending to him, Dudley was very well kept. We chatted for a bit, and he informed me that Dudley would be headed to auction (production) the following June. I inquired how much he would be asking for Dudley and, if I could purchase him for that amount, would he sell him to me. To my good fortune, he agreed.  A successful Go Fund Me Campaign raised the necessary funds. After three months of searching for a haven for Dudley, I found his forever home at Unity Farm Sanctuary in Sherborn, Mass. With the help of farmer Jon who was pleased this special animal could be saved from slaughter, Dudley was transported to his new home on June 6th of 2018, where he is living out his best life with other animal rescues in safety and peace.

 Dudley Brewing is a nano scale brewery located in Wilton, NH. Our flagship Scottish Ale (8.1% abv) is brewed in the spirit of Scotland itself. In addition to matching the water profile of the region, we also soak oak chips in sweet bourbon and then allow them to settle in the wort for a full week before bottling. The result? A full bodied yet smooth brew with outstanding mouth feel and a sweet delicate finish! Like Dudley himself, this brew is filled with the finest grains, is smooth and delivers a kick! 

At Dudley Brewing, we take pride in using only the finest and freshest ingredients available to create our handcrafted beers. Each of our specialty malts and hops are put into production within days of arriving at the brewhouse. We strive to have the final product on tap, retail shelves or available at craft fairs within 72 hours of packaging, ensuring the cleanest taste possible. Finally, Dudley Brewing sets itself apart by incorporating a hint of spirits in our beers. From sweet bourbon in our Scottish Ale (8.1% abv) to the vanilla whiskey in our Vanilla Pumpkin Pie seasonal ale (6.5% abv).
